Louis Vuitton Neverfull

The world's bestselling luxury bag. A spacious, structured tote in Louis Vuitton's signature Monogram canvas with cinchable side straps. Launched in 2007 and never discontinued.

Retail price range: $1,690 – $2,480+

Louis Vuitton launched the Neverfull in 2007 as a functional tote for everyday use, and it has since become the most commercially successful handbag in history. The name references its extraordinary capacity — it genuinely fits nearly everything. Its design is deliberately simple: Monogram canvas body, tan vachetta leather handles and trim, and side straps that can be cinched to change the silhouette.

The Neverfull comes in three sizes (PM, MM, GM) and three canvas options: Monogram (the original), Damier Ebene, and Damier Azur. MM is by far the most popular size — it functions as a work bag, weekend bag, and occasional overnight bag.

The Pochette Insert

The Neverfull includes a small matching pochette (pouch) that functions as an interior organiser and can be removed and carried separately as a clutch. This is one reason the bag is so versatile — two bags in one. The pochette alone has significant secondary market value.

Vachetta Care

The handles and trim on the Neverfull are made from vachetta leather — untreated, undyed natural cowhide that starts pale cream and darkens to honey and then caramel with use. This patina process is beloved by LV collectors but requires care: vachetta marks easily from water and direct contact. New bags often come with paper wrapped around the handles to protect them until the leather develops some patina naturally.
