A push-lock operates by pressing a central button that releases the bag's flap or frame closure. Unlike a turn-lock (which requires a deliberate twisting motion), a push-lock opens quickly with finger pressure — suitable for bags that need to be accessed repeatedly throughout the day.
Coach's classic push-locks, Gucci's various frame bag closures, and many vintage bags use push-lock mechanisms. On quality bags, the mechanism should operate with a firm, satisfying click — the spring inside the clasp should hold the flap closed with enough resistance that it won't open accidentally.
